April marks the 1 year anniversary of Live Oak Baptist Church’s leap into the Angel Food Ministry. When God called me to research this ministry opportunity, I’ll admit, I was terrified. I’d never done any kind of ministry work before.
I just went to church and went home. I was a true “back row Baptist”, literally. The things the Angel Food program has done for the community is amazing. I hear stories all the time of how the ministry has touched their lives.
The one thing many of you don’t know, however, is how this ministry has touched and change ME personally. It’s brought me closer to my church family, my community, and most of all God. I pray on a regular basis, now, for those in our community who are hurting. I look at all of you who come to pick up the Angel Food boxes and it blesses me to see the joy in your faces.
I’m so happy that the deacons, the pastor, and the church body has the guts to try new things and think outside the box. The Angel Food program has grown larger than we initially expected, but we are loving it…hard work and all!
Thanks to all of you who have made this year possible, and thanks to God for having his hands in it all!
